Tile Workshop with Rob Buller

Service Description

This is a 6-week tile workshop creating 4, 6-inch tiles that are bas-relief decorated with underglazes. Students provide their own 13" x 13" photographic image or drawing. Images can be blown up at a Staples or Office Max and will be discussed the first day of class. Alternatively, students may use a 6-inch repeater image. This course is 6 weeks and chock full of techniques including, carving, sculpting in low relief, Sgraffito & Mishima, tile making, decorating with slips and underglazes. Students leave with a finished product mounted and ready to hang in their home. The final pieces are approximately 14” by 14". and there will be discussion on mounting options prior to the completion of the work and chosen by the student. Best practices for a successful form construction will be taught. Cancellation policy: Cancellations receive a 50% refund or postponement to a later class, if cancelled 48 hours prior to the beginning of the first class, less booking fees of 3%. We need a minimum of 5 participants to run the class.
